I also want to point out the tiny game of Townscaper, which is more or less a click build game, but if you get started, its very, very addicting. Golftopia, released this year, has gotten into my heart as one of the best simulation indie game of the year. There is a lot of awesome games on this list, including my all-time favorite Cities Skylines. These games can make time disappear from the universe if you are not careful.
